This cinnamon honey butter recipe is best used for dinner or breakfast. I cream softened salted butter at room temperature to lighten its color before adding other ingredients. The finished dish is a fluffy, sweet cinnamon butter that can be served in a ramekin.

I use a medium mixing bowl and hand mixer. A stand mixer with a whisk attachment can also be used. Mix only the butter at medium-high speed for 2 to 3 minutes until light in color and fluffy. I usually scrape the bowl before adding other ingredients. Preliminary mixing of the butter results in a light, fluffy, yet firm butter when added to sugar and honey.
After adding sugar and honey, beat on medium speed for 2 to 3 minutes. Add cinnamon and vanilla flavoring. Stop beating several times to beat down the sides of the bowl as batter clings there; honey and other ingredients tend to cling to the bowl. Powdered sugar will not leave granules in the butter. Honey sweetens the butter.
The entire batch takes 10 minutes. I use this recipe as a pancake topping. Other uses include serving it as a topping for bread and sweet potatoes for extra flavor. The honey and cinnamon can be adjusted to suit your family's tastes. I don't continue to mix once the butter mixture is smooth and creamy and serve the topping in a dish.
Why you'll love this recipe
- A 10-minute batch can be made alongside a meal already going. Only one dish will need to be washed.
- It makes 16 tablespoons, enough to take to a party in a small container.
- You can control the strength of the cinnamon flavor.
- A handheld mixer works. I use a stand mixer when counter space is limited.
- It's soft enough to scoop from a ramekin.
